Can you recycle old food? Keara Yee, age 8

Hi Keara

Yes it is possible to recycle old food - by turning it into compost. We often say that composting is nature's way of recycling and its something that we can all do at home - or in school!

What happens to rubbish that can't be recycled? Jack, age12

Dear Jack

Waste which goes into your residual bin (black bin) is taken to the new Energy From Waste facility at Great Blakenham. The facility generates valuable electrical energy from burning this waste- preventing it from going to landfill.
